In the backyard, this fledgling Rainbow Lorikeet (Trichoglossus moluccanus) was being instructed by his parents in the fine art of hassling humans for food – including landing on their arms and head. It was all I could do to stop him drinking my beer!
As the young Rainbows tend to do, he begged his parents for food with an incessant husky shriek, and assumed a deferential “please-give-me-food” pose…
A parent relented and gave the little one a feed:
